Backbeat: SESAC Latina Celebrates Christmas with Jencarlos Canela at Miami 'Posada'

SESAC Latina celebrated Christmas in Miami with a “Posada Navideña” (a Christmas celebration) at Zielo Restaurant in Miami on Dec. 4 with special guest artist Jencarlos Canela.
Canela, a SESAC writer, spoke with journalists about his upcoming album, due out in 2014, prior to Santa’s arrival.
Now signed to Universal Music Latino, the singer/songwriter will release an all-English single -- “Give it Up” (a cover version of the song recored by KC and The Sunshine Band) -- in January.
Those in attendance included Univision director of talent relations Clara Pablo, and Telemundo director of talent and music affairs Mary Carballés. Both have worked with Canela, who launched his entertainment career as a soap opera star.

Canela is also a spokesperson for the International Rescue Committee, and guests were asked to bring toys to donate to the organization.
